Mon, 23rd June, 2025 Roy Hill rest area, north of Newman to Rest area, 30km north of Kumarina Roadhouse, WA

3am it was down to 7 degrees and at 6am it was still only 7 degrees so I put the heater on. Clear sky.

Rick left Cairns this morning so we will see him in a week or so.

Packed up and headed down the highway towards Newman on the bitumen pushing into a strong head wind. Jumpers needed today.

Into Newman and around to get 2 gas bottles as we are about to run out completely. Topped up with fuel and water then around to Woolies to shop. I do it in stages so I can pack the first lot away before getting the next lot. Swapped a couple of books at the street library and got some more rum and vodka when the grog shop opened after lunch.

All packed away by 4pm so headed south across the Tropic of Capricorn.

As the sun disappeared we pulled up on the rest area we stopped at on the way up and parked up. Straight into the camper to put the heater on and cook dinner.
