Wed, 10th Sept, 2014 Forresters Beach to Camden

Wet start to the morning as the Weather Bureau got it right again. Cleared by 9 though so packed up the van and said goodbye to Pete. Wishing him all the best with his troubles and his battle with brain cancer. Looking forward to seeing him again and spending more time in this beautiful area.

Headed off to join the Freeway south. Loved these signs.

Amazing how they cut away the mountains to put in the Freeway.

You can see the trucks on the Freeway in the distance (just right of my aerial).

Stopped for a cuppa at the Freeway roadside stop on the north side of the Hawkesbury River bridge. Top view and amazing rock formations.

Lots of these bits of hill left between the lanes and where they put in Exit lanes.

Too many trucks on the road and they are all in a rush. Off the Freeway into Pennant Hills Road which they have swished 6 lanes where 2 used to be and it is 70km/hour and don’t you know it when the trucks whiz past. Steve can’t get over the B-doubles hurtling through these narrow lanes.

Back onto the M2 and M7 – worth the toll fees to not be negotiating the roads and lights through the suburbs. Big signs over the Freeway advising “concern for child” giving car make and rego and to call 000.

Pulled off Camden Valley Road to find somewhere for lunch. Found a clearing where the rural fire brigade and a cemetery was – very old 1870s and some current ones – sad – hasn’t even got a name over the cemetery. We were in Narellan.

Found Pete and Marion’s house in Grasmere, Camden.

Needed to do some pruning to get up the side of the house so out with the new saw.

Lovely afternoon chatting with Marion and saw Tim for a moment as we whizzed in to change and go back out again. Pete is in USA for work so we will see him on Monday as we will stay here for a week so I can catch up with my second cousins. We will also see Steve’s cousin, Andrea and family, who lives at Wahroonga.
