Woke
to a misty morning but the day improved and was spectacular from then on.
Headed
off north and drove straight through Sydney on the Freeway, through the tunnel,
past
the airport, with the City skyscrapers in the background to the right
through the tunnel under
the runway
past
the crazy cyclists on the freeway
through
Sydney
past
Circular Quay, looking towards the Bridge
amazing
excavations to make all these roads
under
another toll
and
over the Harbour Bridge
a
train whizzed by us on the Bridge
to
Milson’s Point to visit Dennis & Rhonda (girlie did a good job).
Unfortunately
it was Market Day there and there were cars everywhere. We drove around and
found one a few streets over towards Kirribilli. Steve mounted the sidewalk as
the road was so narrow we were sticking out too far.
Nice
walk back towards the Bridge around one of the bays – lots of families enjoying
the lovely weather – they have had a lot of rain here recently.
Rang
Mum and Dad - she said she is going to be a great grandmother. Rebecca is
expecting which is wonderful news. Sent her a text to wish her all the best. I
will be a great Aunt in May
I
do enjoy looking at all the old homes – Steve checks out all the gas pipes and
is amazed at what he finds!!!
Through
the markets where there was all kinds of different things, food etc and lots of
secondhand clothes for sale.
Went down through the park to under the Bridge, looking to the Opera House.
Along the waterfront to Luna Park.
It’s
great that you don’t have to pay to wander around. Brought back memories of
going there with Mum – the only time I remember her coming on a whizzy ride –
think it was like the tea cup ones and she was on the outer edge and when it
whizzed she got pushed onto Julie & I squashing us!!!! Had fun with the
wobbly mirrors or is that just us now!!
Found a ferris wheel that was more Steve’s style!!
Zoomed
in on the tourists walking the bridge – I enjoyed that when I did a few years
ago.
Chatted
with a guy about his helicopter camera thing – costs $1500 and connects to his
iphone – great idea.
The
sky writer was slowly spelling out I love LP – thought Luna Park – but then a
W. There was a wedding at Luna Park so maybe it was for her. Looked great.
Had
lovely burgers with Dennis & Rhonda in a new Burger place near the Bridge.
We had fruit sodas.
Great
to see them again.
An
old church and some more houses.
In
the car again and onto the Highway north to Wahroonga to see Steve’s cousin,
Andrea and her family. Arrived in time to watch half of the V8s at Sandown
while we chatted, enjoying the beautiful sunshine.
Had
a lovely time catching up and a very tasty roast dinner.
