Sun, 4th Jan, 2015 Gordon Foreshore Reserve

Warm night – no blanket but a bit cooler this morning, well 20 degrees. The heavy clouds still hanging around till 10. Chatted with our neighbours who we had previously met at Hellyer Gorge up near Burnie. Great to catch up with them again to hear what they have been up to. They went to Bruny together yesterday and did the Bruny Cruise. They said it was amazing and saw two whales, seals and the dolphins were swimming beside the boat.

Got our chairs and sat chatting the morning away then had lunch together too. Showed the ladies little things we have done to the van etc and all about my blog. They are keen to start their own. Exchanged emails and phone numbers. One lady is Glenda Delaforce and I thought, I know that name. Wendy’s friend has the same name but I can’t remember if she was a Fry or married a Fry. Will have to check facebook. This Glenda said she sometimes gets Cairns Glenda’s emails. She also ran into a Glenda Delaforce in a bank in north NSW. How amazing.

Shirlee and Rob (from Toowoomba) are heading home so we all said goodbye. They offered for us to call in and stay if we are in the area. Might be a while but will definitely catch up with them someday.

Alan & Bev, Noel & Glenda headed off to a winery and a sheep cheese place. I got the washing going then made some pikelets for us. Steve went for a drive to get some more water as there is only a water tank here. Unfortunately this whole area only has water tanks so will have to find water somewhere else. We have enough for another week so all good.

Lovely day, just t-shirt and shorts which was lovely. Had a drink with another Qld couple, Leanne & Rick, who did the Bruny Island Cruise today. Said it was freezing down the bottom around the Friars. The wind has come up now and is getting cool as we sit right beside the water looking across to Bruny. The others have come back so went over to have a drink with them. The sheep cheese was different but ok. Showed them on their map some of the places we saw and stayed at near Great Lake etc.

Getting colder now so into the van to warm up and cook dinner.

Ducked out to take this lovely photo of the full moon over the Channel.
