Thurs, 8th Jan, 2015 Gordon Foreshore Reserve

6am.  22 degrees in the van. Still now wind and the sky is clear. Lovely colour of the sun rising over Bruny Island. The other chap certainly had the wind forecast wrong.

8am. It is now overcast but still calm.

Headed outside to eat breakfast. The clouds are getting darker and then it started to spit on me – no awning to hide under so back inside.

9am. Thunder rumbling then lightning and louder thunder over us. Only a splattering of rain though.

Quiet day in the van (we were going on a 3hr walk to a waterfall – maybe Steve called up the rain clouds!!). Reading all the articles I scanned about Tassie to get more info on places to go etc. Watched a great true story movie about Ben Carlson, an amazing surgeon.

Rang the Electoral Commission to find out about how we vote. Will go online and put in an excusal then we have to check again about the 13th to see if we need to vote.

More rain on and off all day. About 5 went for a wander, more vans and tents have arrived, though mainly locals with kids.

Rang Kaylene, back from their trip in Melbourne. Then Suzanne, she was broken into too, so infuriating. Then Dave & Wendy. Great to chat with them all again. Rang Jon back, he has fixed his HWS problems.
