After
the rain last night we woke to a clear blue sky though cooler, 14 degrees at
7am. I could just see the sunrise through the trees.
Texted
Steve Milhinch for his birthday. He will be pleased William and Kate had a
princess.
Got
the washing machine pumping while Steve washed the car with the washing water.
The
sun was lovely and warm so down to shorts and shirt to do some more fishing
after lunch. The water is so clear and just the roll of the swell so we could
even see the fish in the waves. I got 4 lovely salmon, about 50 cm long and
poor Steve only got one and a mullet that the seagulls enjoyed!! Steve said he
should have filleted that too as they eat them here – it did have lovely white
flesh.
Not
the best set up for filleting but we got by. I did the removal of the blood etc
in the van. We have enough for three nights and some lunches which is great.
Chatted
with a couple, Dave & Jenny (ex Beerburum, Qld) who have been on the road
for 9 years. He has problems with his fridge so Steve will check it out
tomorrow.
Texted
Pinks to see how they are going. Mick rang too after I sent a text about the
fishing. He went out to the shelf and filled up on striped trumpeter etc – 40kg
of fillets.
Lovely
night by the fire – the kittens will have a feast on all the fish carcasses
etc. Mr Possum came for a visit too. The moon is filling up and shining through
the trees.
Watched the long race for the V8s in Barbagallo. Do miss Channel 7’s coverage though. Steve’s confirmation came through for Bathurst V8s volunteering so I put in a request for a campsite too.
