Sat, 9th June, 2018 Bush camp, Ruby Plains Mine to Bush camp, Mary River Mine, south of Halls Creek, WA

7am 16 degrees, clear sky and no wind.

Packed up and crawled up and down the hills looking for places to detect.

Nothing took Steve’s fancy so we headed back to the main track. Stopped and detected a recently burnt area but nothing there.

Headed back along the track and checked out the old abandoned bus.

Decided to go back to the Tanami and cross over into the Mary River goldfields. Found the dam near where the mine was. Drove onto the dam wall.

This area is a lot flatter but still covered in lots of spinifex. There was another dam with a nice open spot so parked up there for the night.

I kept going with my blog while Steve detected. I got lots done and Steve got lots of exercise.

Cockatoos landed in the trees near the other dam (thankfully) and boy did they make a racket. Then the sun set and all was quiet.

Nice evening. Saw the fastest satellite crossing yet. It zoomed overhead and was quite bright but not as bright as the Space Station.

There was a fireplace already made here but it was in the wrong spot so Steve got out our lovelies warmers to keep us warm while we played cards. Steve flogged me 4 games to 1 – he should be finding lots of gold!!
