Cool
dark morning with more drizzly rain. Wished Dad a happy 86th
birthday. Sent a message via Amanda for Ella’s birthday.
We
watched the Supercars race in Townsville while we had breakfast.
The
sun came out after lunch. I cleaned the inside of the truck. Then we drove down
to Jon’s to give him our old jerry cans as we won’t need them on the trip back.
We still have 2 new 20L ones on the roof rack for emergencies. He was putting
down tiles in the toilet – doing a good job too. He has been renovating for a
while and it is looking good. His patio out the front is huge. He and Jess are
off to Bali soon so they asked if I could come and look after the dogs and the
house. Steve is going up the Palmer so I said yes as the dogs are very good and
Charlie (the ringed-neck parrot) is no trouble.
Back
home to cook dinner for Mum and Dad’s birthdays. Jon & Jess and Greg came
over too which was great. Showed them our ‘rocks’ and then some of the videos
of the Canning Stock Route fun we had up and down the sand dunes. Steve asked
Jon to get his geologist friend to have a look at his ‘silver’ to work out what
it is.
Lovely
evening chatting.
