Tues, 1st Oct, 2019 Mickey & Chris’ place, Sandstone, WA

7.30am 20 degrees, clear sky and light cool breeze.

Our fridge finally arrived back from Perth. Unfortunately Toll/Ipec must have busted it off the pallet as one leg was bent and the screws were twisted. I took photos in case there was any other damage. Steve got the leg straightened and we put it in through the window again. Got it connected to gas and it started up ok.

The day got hotter – 37 degrees at lunch. Great test for the fridge.

The police rang Mickey to see if two men had booked in as there were two prospectors missing around the area. She had a lady ring the other day searching for her mother who was from around these parts and hadn’t been in contact. Luckily she turned up.

A plant in the pool patio area has produced two beautiful flowers.

The fridge slowly cooled down through the day – no other problems thank goodness.

I spotted a police car drive by obviously to do with the missing guys. There is no police station in Sandstone. Also we were told to be aware that all the surrounding towns have ‘no grog’ available at the moment due to the fighting and death in Cue. The publican here won’t follow suit so we may have ‘visitors’ coming into town to buy their grog.

Full house tonight in the rooms.
