Went for our morning walk then wished Terry a very happy birthday when he come out of his ‘cubby hole’ (what he calls his Avan).
Jon and Annalise rang to wish Terry a great day. Maralyn and Greg rang from the steam festival in Victoria they are enjoying. She sent photos and videos of some of the old steam engines etc for Terry.
Around morning tea the other visitors arrived for the lunch time party. Ron and Joan, David & Amanda, Amanda’s parents Rod & Jan. Had a lovely time chatting then the Bowls Club bus arrived and Ann & Alby joined us for the ‘long drive’ - around the block to the Bowls Club. The others walked down and Dulcie & Ted drove. Bradley and Ben arrived just as we were ordering our meals.
Steve thanked everyone for coming then presented Terry with his cushion - something to cuddle in his Avan. The photo was from the ‘bucks’ night before Jon’s wedding.
Took the family and friend photos. Ella rang via video from overseas as she left last night with her friend for a working holiday in the UK. Stephanie rang too.
Lovely lunch then the cake was brought out. Amanda’s friend, Erica, made it and the Avan and fireplace are not made of cake so can be kept. Terry was very impressed and it tasted wonderful.
Back on the bus at 2.30 and our driver, Sharon, took us north along the Esplanade for a drive.
The chatting continued with Merv, Carmel, Ron & Joan managing to fit 4 people on the 'new' 3 seater leather lounge Steve acquired from a neighbour.
Sadly the party ended. Brian had to get back to Brisbane to fly back to Cairns at 9.15 and David & Amanda etc had to go back to Maryborough for work tomorrow.
A light shower came over but moved on quickly. Steve and I went for a walk - wind very cool so we went around the streets checking out the homes and all the kangaroos lounging and eating the watered lawns that were nice and green.
All quiet again with us, Terry and Merv & Carmel so just had light tea and early to bed. Missed a call from Dan & Fran and then Jodie, Bryon & Sam with all the excitement I had left the phone in my bag. Messaged them back to say sorry and asked them to ring again tomorrow.
