3-7 Mar, 2025 Dan & Fran’s place, Gordonvale, Qld

Mon, 3rd

Sophia had another 3am start but Fran dealt with her this time as Dan had to go to work. She went back to sleep which was good so they all got a bit more sleep.

Dan headed off to work and we went into the Dept of Transport to renew our drivers’ licences. Picked up Jon’s ute to get new tyres on for him before he comes home from SA. Steve had a good time chatting with the tyre chap he has known for years.

Dropped off the ute and saw Lynda. She is heading back to work so we will see her for Beau’s birthday.

Back home for late lunch and catch up on blog and then look into NZ holiday while Sophia had a big sleep.

Steve and Dan got into the door frame while I played with Sophia. Pushing a top tooth so not very happy tonight.

Tues, 4th

Booked our motorhome for NZ, now to sort flights etc.

Warm days up here, 31 to 33 degrees this week with 22 to 24 minimums, definitely noticing the humidity when we are outside. Nice clear day.

Visited Annalise and Beau. We will babysit tomorrow so she can go to work. Beau can’t go to Daycare as he has a bit of a gunky eye.

Back to Dan’s for the afternoon play with Sophia.

After dinner drove to Annalise’s for the night as she starts work early!

Wed, 5th

Up early to look after Beau after Annalise went to work. He is such a busy bee but easy to entertain and likes his food and water. We had a wonderful time with him.

Annalise home 4pm so we headed back to Dan & Fran’s for a play with Sophia again.

Thurs, 6th

Quiet morning relaxing.

After lunch we headed into town. Stopped at the Crematorium first to check on Mum, Dad and Anthony’s plaques - still there. Out to Kaylene & Rick’s for a visit then into Rebecca & Clive’s. Great to see them all again. Wendy & David are still in Tassie and Andrea & Alan are overseas.

Fran had a wisdom tooth out today so not feeling the best but better to have it out.

Cyclone Alfred still making its way towards Sunshine Coast. Jon changed his flight from Adelaide to via Melbourne, not Brisbane as he might have gotten stuck there due to the cyclone approaching.

Fri, 7th

Dan doesn’t work today so he was up with Sophia. I joined him about 7am and we played with her toys.

Steve & I went for a walk following the path up the hill along the creek edge then back down again and across the highway on the footbridge. Who would have thought we would have a 4 lane highway from Gordonvale to Cairns now. Lots of flying foxes coming in to the trees here - we heard them flying around over us last night.

Dan and Steve continued on with the door renovation. Coming along well - door closes, just need to finish the gyprock then paint.

Another warm day but they have air conditioning so cool and dry inside. Got out her pool and a great ‘water park’ mat and we had a great time watching her play. So cute.

We have been watching Clarksons Farm each night - very funny but also very informative.
