Wed, 26th Feb, 2025 Geck Beach House, Woodgate, Qld

Perfect temperature for sleeping (min 21 degrees) till the mower man started! Got us up for breakfast and a walk along the foreshore. Checked in on the beach - high tide. Erica’s bench has a new one beside it now so plenty of room for everyone to sit and enjoy the view. The wind is picking up.

Now to get some exercise - down to the Post Office and back.

We gave David this painting my Mum did for a birthday years ago - now it is going to live here. Another to add to Mum’s portfolio.

Checked out Erica’s desert roses we transplanted into the back yard. Doing well which is great.

Very windy now. My cousin, Roald and Joan are at the Van Park and rode their e-bikes over for morning tea. We chatted away till lunch, checking out the shed and Terry’s treasures he has in there. I need to write a story for each item - fascinating history.

Quiet time after lunch to catch up on my blog etc.

Went down to the beach for drinks. Got a photo of the boys on Erica’s bench.

Ann and family have put a plaque on “Alby’s bench” that he had put in years ago above where Erica’s is, on the top of the dune.

Roald & Joan joined us so we chatted the afternoon away.

Back to the house for late dinner. Jon rang from work for a chat which was lovely. He had a long chat with Steve then with Terry. He had booked our flights back to Perth using his ‘points’ and has arranged extra legroom for us too. Wonderful son.
