Tues, 25th Feb, 2025 Meriton Suites, Brisbane City to Geck Beach House, Woodgate, Qld

Packed our bags ready to catch the train to Bundaberg at 11am. Leanne & Rick joined us for a cuppa at 9am then we walked across to Roma Street Station together. It was lovely to have them show us some more of Brisbane’s history and new things. More to see so will have to do it again. They went to their platform to head back to Ipswich and we found ours.

Boarded at 10.50 and we were heading north at 11am. No worry about check-ins, weighing or security so much quicker then the flying routine but of course the trip is slower. At least you can get up and walk around easier then on a plane. We had front row seats in carriage F so were near where we put our suitcases and the toilet - perfect. A selfie for this next part of our ‘holiday’.

Sky got darker as we passed Caboolture and we could see dark clouds heading away from us and wet ground as we travelled along. Nice mural at Cooroy Station.

The sky cleared a bit by Maryborough then a shower of rain with sunshine as we neared Bundaberg.

Terry was waiting at the station for us. He is looking well - great to see him again. We loaded our bags into the car then headed around to the house to pick up Terry’s bag and load in some things from his fridge. Stopped off at the shopping centre for a few more bits then headed down to Woodgate. A couple of light showers as we drove along.

Into Woodgate Beach and along the foreshore - big wild and windy this afternoon. Arrived at the house at 5pm so unloaded then got out the chairs to have drinks out the front. Very quiet here. Selfie time to post on our Geck Family page.

Dinner then watched some TV - 1% Club was on, Margaret has got us hooked.
