Thurs, 29th Sept, 2022 Shire Van Park, Nullagine to Info Centre car park, Newman, WA

Mackerel sky this morning, no wind, 23 degrees. Washed the sheets and towels so we are all clean to start travelling again.

Said farewell to Geoff and Virginia as they headed off to detect. Will see them later on somewhere or in Perth in December.

The clouds thickened but everything dried. Paul and Brenda were out of their van so Steve went over for a chat. Paul writes the books about detecting around here which Steve has been using. We had met them years ago when he was researching for his book.

Packed up and headed out of town for the last time. The sky is darker in the south.

Pulled into Roy Hill Rest Area for lunch then continued on to Newman to get the shopping down before the rain starts. Spits of rain hit the windscreen as we headed off!

Got most of the shopping down before short bursts of rain came and went. A stronger squall came over just as we were heading for the grog shop but then went again just a quickly leaving the wet bitumen smell. Topped up the diesel, still $2.299 here so the excise hasn’t been added yet.

A big rumble of thunder rolled over as we headed around to the Info Centre to park up for the night. Rain started to fall but only lightly, not like the last time we were here.
