13
degrees at 7.30am, overcast. We were relaxing over breakfast and I was doing my
blog. I looked at the time on my computer and said it’s time for a hot cross
bun and a cuppa. After we had it we
started to pack up when I looked at the clock on the wall that we adjusted last
night and it was only 9.45am – I got caught with the time change!!! My computer
obviously needs the internet to change!!!
After
we got ready had another cuppa with Mick and Anne and then headed off to
Policemans Point which is out at the mouth of Ansons Bay. Up a steep hill then
down to the causeway over Ansons River. Some kayakers had just headed off
downstream.
Around
the edge of the river and along the bay.
Nice
flat farm area for cattle – some big bulls resting in a paddock.
Pulled
into the spot Ron & Jenny had and there was another van near the beach.
Noel said they were just collecting their boat so we moved into the camp spot.
Into
position.
Boat
access area.
Looking
out to the mouth.
The
pelican huddle.
Old
jetty, looking back into the Bay.
Set
up, ready for lunch after a chat with Anita and Noel.
Got
our new beach rods out and set up to go bream fishing in the river. Anita and
Noel have caught a few so far.
Anita
got a nice big bream. Their dog, Billy, was very excited as he loves eating the
frames.
We
were using their bait. Gave up after a while as we were just fighting with the
strong current and the weed. We went and found some little crabs and worms
ready for tomorrow.
Went
for a walk to check out the other campsites and a Qld chap driving out stopped
to say hi. He recognised us – we figured out we met them at Old Mac’s Farm and
at Cooee Point. Wandered down to the beach – smelt of rotting kelp and the wind
was blowing hard. The clouds are looking darker.
Sky
gets darker quicker now too so Steve got the fire going and I cooked dinner.
Polly Possum came down for a visit. Will have to put out some vegie scraps for
him tomorrow.
Started
spitting on us so back into the van which was nice at 20 degrees at 8pm. Light
rain through the night.
