15
degrees at 7am with clear sky over the land but dark clouds out to sea. Misty
scuds of rain came over us all morning so stayed in the van reading Malcolm’s
Wanderer magazines. The wind is strong and cold. Went for a walk after smoko
around the camp areas – there is only 3 other camps left. Pick some wild
blackberries to eat – yum.
Anita
gave us another fish fillet to have with the one that Steve caught so we will
have it for lunch with the last of the corn cob and cherry tomatoes that
Malcolm gave us. Delicious.
Went
out for a fish as the rain has stopped but the sky is still heavy. The wind is
so cold and very strong I had to brace myself against the gusts. Steve’s bucket
is still on the other bank. Noel got two
fish and Steve got a couple of hits but that’s all. Gave in at 5pm as it was
too cold and windy.
Steve
got the fire going for lamb chops and vegies in the bush cooker though it will
be a battle with the wind even though we are sheltered by the shrubs around us.
Texted
Jon to see how he is – better. Tash rang back so had a nice chat with her.
Enjoyed dinner by the fire. Polly Possum was making grunting noises in the tree
behind us but we couldn’t find another possum. He came down and enjoyed all my
scrapes. Loved Malcolm’s corn cobs, will have to send them this photo.
The
sky cleared and stars came out. Saw two satellites go by then the clouds came
over again. Anita and Noel joined us by the fire. Ran out of timber so into the
van to warm up.
