Tues, 7th Apr, 2015 Policemans Point, Bay of Fires Conservation Area

15 degrees at 7am and overcast again but the rain has stopped. Went out for a fish as the tide was coming in but nothing happening. Fun watching the seagulls ‘puddling’ in the shallows for their food.

Uploaded my blog by connecting to the big antenna. Rebecca had put a scan picture of her baby on facebook – it will be a boy. So happy for her and Jeremy and hope all goes well. The wind has picked up so the clouds are blowing away but the wind is biting cold. Anita and Noel have done lots of travelling in their truck and have now just bought their first caravan so we helped them out with some things we have found to make life easier etc.

Made some pikelets and date slice to go with a cuppa. Packed up and headed out to fish. A boat whizzed by towards the mouth but wisely decided not to go out.

We had two pieces of conduit under the bed (for repairs) so Steve made them into rod holders to shove into the sand. We also carried out our big buckets with their lids on so we could sit down. Unfortunately the wind was very strong so we had to stay seated on the buckets. That was until Steve caught a bream, got up to wind it in then the bucket flew off into the water, luckily heading into the Bay. It ended up going across to the other side and got blown up onto the sand into a bush. The kids in the next camp have a kayak so Steve might see if they will paddle over and get it when the wind dies down.

With all the commotion I didn’t get a photo of Steve with the fish – so here it is on the sand.

Billy guarding the fish.

Jon rang after going to the doctor with his sore throat – he has tonsillitis – my poor baby. Gave him all my advice.

Steve filleted his fish while I tried once more to get a bite!!! Then we headed in and got the fire going for our camp oven roast dinner. I put the vegie scraps up in the tree fork for the possum.

Beautiful sunset colours in the sky.

Walked out onto the road to get the sunset.

After a yummy dinner and some more of Malcolm’s corn cobs, I went to put the corn cobs in the tree too and Mr Possum was already there feasting.

Rang Mum & Dad while we sat by the fire. All good at home which is great. The fire is dying down and the wind is getting colder so back into the van. It is dark now at 6.30, such a change from the daylight saving 9.30 sunsets!!

Steve’s got TV reception again so he’s happy.
