17
months on the road. 7.30am 20 degrees and lovely sunshine but the wind is back
making it a little chilly first up.
Drove
across the Paringa Bridge to the Bert Dix Memorial Park to watch the bridge
lift for the boats to pass under it at 9.30am.
Hundreds
of corellas here making a racket. Obviously the explosion noises are keeping
them off the crops as they are all here. You wouldn’t want to suffer from a
nervous condition from war as the sound is like gunshots going off and in the
quiet of the morning it can be unnerving.
The
man is in the little cage ready to lower the boom gates on the road then raise
the bridge.
The
ski boats just zoom under the other section.
I
videoed the bridge going up then the lovely glass houseboat ‘Drift’ going under
it.
A
couple more came through.
Then
he lowered it.
Nearly
down.
Lovely
willows in the park.
Boom
gates back up and we head back over again.
Stopped
at the Caravan Shop looking for bigger vents for the fridge. Lovely lady, very
helpful.
Back
to the van to do the washing and Steve checked the caravan brakes and replaced
a leaking plug in the truck tyre (a puncture we had at Strahan, Tassie). Good
breeze drying the clothes. Perfect temp today, 30 degrees.
A
few fisherman and water skiers zooming by. No luck with the fishing – only one
little carp and no pelican to feed.
Very
still and a bit warmer 31.7 degrees at 8.30pm. Nice and quiet on the river.
