Slept
in as it is cold and windy. Got the sheets and towels in the wash. Played with
Steve’s new GPS. Went for a drive with Shelley and Helen to check out a pottery
place. All the washing dry as the wind was nearly blowing it off the line. 24
degrees top today.
Into
the truck for the hour drive to Darlington Speedway. Gave Glen our old GPS so
the boys programmed it – hope she doesn’t get them lost somewhere!!
Speedcars
and sedans tonight with the Formulas. The track was rough again and very muddy
to start. When the speedcars went around for their warm up we all got showered
in mud!! Tessa, Brett and Summer hiding from the mud.
The
wind is getting colder now the sun as set.
Lexi
started in the Bmain and ended up 8th so will be second reserve for
the Amain.
Glen
started in the Amain but got turned around and blew a tyre in the first lap. Not
the way he wanted to finish the series, being towed off the track.
The
first reserve was pulled into the race then they had another restart. Another
car dropped out so Lexi was able to enter. The race started at last and Lexi
kept going to the end and managed to keep clear of the pushing and shoving that
was going on. Great finish with both of them making the Amain and going home
with the cars intact.
Glen
ended up 10th with the reshuffle of points from tonight. Lexi and
others had gone over to presentation but Glen was off chatting as he didn’t
realise he was to receive a trophy. Lexi accepted a lovely big trophy and even
had to make a speech on his behalf. We think she finished in 19th. Great
finish to a big week.
Got
home about 1am – never had so many late nights!! But it has been fun.
