Sat, 3rd Dec, 2016 Ross & Lara’s, Wattle Grove, WA (V8s Homebush)

Snoozed on and off. A few bumpy patches along the way. Pilot put his foot down so we did the distance in 4 and half hours rather than the usual 5 hours. Arrived at Perth Airport 4am Cairns time. Waiting at the baggage area and I found one bag but not the big one. There was a similar one still going around and we got down to only it so I asked the staff and they rang the person whose name was on that bag to let him know it was still here. He had picked ours up by mistake so we had to wait another half hour for him to return – boy what a night.

Got the last cab and got home to the van at 5am Cairns time which is 3am WA time. All good in the van. Bit chilly outside, 16 degrees in the van as we put on our long pjs and climbed into our flanny sheets and under the blankets!! Such a contrast to no sheet and the fan on in Cairns.

Sleep for a few hours. Overcast and cool as we had our cereal. Need to get some shopping down now. Rang Mum and Dad to say we arrived ok.

Cleaned out the fridge etc, watched the start of the V8 broadcast from Homebush, Sydney then headed out for some food and a new battery for the truck’s fridge.

Beautiful Jacaranda trees are in bloom everywhere – didn’t bring my camera!!

Back in time to watch the V8s race. Great race with Shane van Giz winning the title with another day to go.

Texted Margaret & Bob then Linda and Judy to let them know we are back in town. Margaret rang back so we arranged to visit on Monday. Left a message for Ross & Lara to say we were back.

Showers of rain came over making it a bit cool!!

Easy dinner and early shower then watched some TV – yeah we have control of the TV again!! Ha ha Mum.

Looking forward to bed as we are still getting over the late flight.

NO PHOTOS TODAY.
