Fri, 14th Apr, 2017 Bush camp, Broad Arrow, WA (Steve’s 1st 2017 nugget)

Little sprinkle of rain in the early morning.

Overcast morning for detecting. Went closer to the road where there were some scrapes and Steve found his first bit for 2017. Marked it with a smiley face. He is on his way to paying off his new coil!! After a cuppa I went over the same area but didn’t find anything.

Gavin, Tonia and the kids drove in as they saw our truck from the road. The kids had fun digging up rusty bits of tin with my detector. They are coming out for the day on Sunday after the Easter Bunny has been.

Back to camp for lunch and the gold weigh-in. We thought a gram but it only came to 0.78g, but it is gold and he gets ice-cream tonight!!

Overcast arvo which made it stay warm. Perfect temperature around the fire that we had dinner there with Kev and Linda.

Enjoyed our ice-cream – yes I had some even though I didn’t find any gold!!

Rang Ross to update him on our progress. He said it is mainly deep gold here so there should be some in the turned over ground. I will have to dig every target instead of passing up the loud ones thinking they are rubbish and hopefully I will be rewarded!!
