Headed
off early and stopped at the V8 info place to get our tickets and camp pass.
Into the volunteer camp site 49 just behind the Pits in Gran Turismo Ave. Sun
shining so hot in it but the breeze is still cool. Set up and met Peter who is
behind us and has volunteered for past 6 years.
Steve got TV reception so had lunch
while watching a special Bathurst V8 extra. Went out to get groceries and came
back to find they had changed our site number – the guy had done two 57 sites
so he had to shift the sites along one so we had to shift. Wasn’t too bad as
the other site was only 5 metres across and this one is 6 meters so we can get
the truck across the front. At 5pm we set off for a lap around the track on
foot – 1 ½ hours later we made it back with a few stops along the way. Lots of
rabbits in with the sheep. Watching news for the first time in ages – haven’t
missed much. Just heard though daylight saving starts today so have to change
the watch in the morning!!!
