Sun, 13th Nov, 2016 Mum & Dad’s, Cairns, Qld (Tinaroo Dam photos)

Very hot and humid morning – it has got to break soon and give us some rain and relief.

Downloaded some more photos by Aertography – using a drone, of Tinaroo Dam. Great to have the other years to compare this year’s ones with. Maybe I should get a drone as the photos are fabulous and to be able to be up in the area looking down opens up a whole new type of scenic photography.

Downfall Creek camping area.

Drove down to the boys to drop off the camping stuff Steve borrowed. Called in for a cuppa and chat with Dave and Wendy. Down to Bunnings to check out vanities to replace Mum & Dad’s.

Home for lunch then we watched the NZ V8s I had taped for Steve. Dark clouds had been building again and at last we got some thunder and lightning and then some rain. Cooled it off for a bit but there wasn’t much rain so it just made it muggier.

Steve and I drove down to the Esplanade for a walk, same track I took yesterday but we went along the front of the Pier and there was a huge bronze marlin that was just erected in Sept celebrating the many years of marlin fishing. Will have to come back with my camera.

Cooked some spaghetti for tea then watched a movie. Brian had given us his code to watch Aussie Gold Hunters on Fox so we enjoyed watching the three groups hunt for gold in WA – they got some nice nuggets too. They were mostly working around the Kalgoorlie area. We will have to do some more investigating!!
