Windy through the night. Sunny with a few puffy clouds this morning. 6.30am 26 degrees.

Received a text from Carmel and a photo of the concrete truck pouring the cement for the slab. Obviously they were able to get the truck earlier. Ann then sent a photo and Tony called too - he sent photo of the shed kit that had been delivered the other day as well. Excitement for the neighbours.

Jeff sold Steve his detecting harness as he probably won’t get back out detecting again. Thanked them for a lovely night and headed off. Topped up with diesel at the local servo for $1.995/L. The countryside is all green from the recent rains.

Stopped at Clairview for lunch - tide was in for a change but I forgot to take a photo! We just enjoyed the view.

Clouds are getting denser as we continued on and then we went through a short section of misty rain.

Topped up again at Ilbilbie $1.979/L.

Few showers as we neared Sarina. Then the sky cleared and was all blue ahead of us.

Into Mackay and the heavy dark clouds are back. On the UHF we heard there was a big crash near the Ring Road so lucky we were heading into town rather than going north. Around to Dale’s place and parked on his driveway as they had had a lot of rain last night so didn’t want to sink into his grass.

Heard some curlews calling - haven’t heard them for a while.

Jon rang from Innaminka at work. Crossed over into Qld each day to do his job. He will be home on the 5^th to wait to meet his little boy.
