Mon, 17th
Min of 20 degrees, clear sky and light easterly breeze.
Steve got to work and I baked some Anzacs as we have run out. Working the food down so we can shut the fridge off while we are away.
After morning tea I used Margaret’s big washing machine and got that job done. Nice hot sun to dry it all in. Snapped a photo of the poor bloke under the truck.
Dug out the suitcases and started putting things in them for our ‘holiday’. Steve got the automatic out without any dramas which was great.
Climbed to 34 degrees today. A few clouds coming over from the west.
Drinks while we watched ‘Tipping Point’ upstairs then dinner and movie in the camper.
10pm the wind picked up and got very strong. Some gusts giving the camper a good shake so glad we had the legs down.
Tues, 18th
20 degrees min again, mostly clear sky and cool breeze.
Steve and Bob with the help of a lifter thing got the automatic into the back of Bob’s ute and Steve tied it down.
I got some exercise with Margaret and walked to Coles as I forgot to get a couple of things I need for the trip - small body wash etc. The wind has picked up and is quite cool. Margaret said we should have gone fishing as it was an easterly and when we walked past the beach it looked lovely. Will go tomorrow.
A cooler day with clouds coming over and blocking the sun. After lunch we all headed up the freeway to Myaree (near Perth, this side of the Swan River). Got a few drops of rain as the clouds got thicker and darker. Dropped off the automatic to Automac Transmissions. James said he will open it up in a couple of days and give Steve a ring as to what he finds.
Back through another shower of rain then home again just in time to close up the camper as rain started here.
Drinks and Tipping Point again - great show though we reckon the ones who get the $20,000 disc to drop in the allocated time should also get the money they have won through the game.
More showers of rain while we had dinner so didn’t open up the camper. The wind was strong and quite cool too.
Wed, 19th
Overcast morning with light breeze. Margaret and I headed down to the beach passing a couple of chaps walking back up with a bucket of herring and guardies. They got there at 5.30am - we only come down at 7.30am!
Had a nice time but obviously the other chaps got the fish. I got 2 little whiting for Meow to eat and Margaret got two herring. At least we have something for fish & chips on Friday night!
The sky is clearing as we head back home for a cuppa. Sent a message to wish Bradley a happy birthday.
Steve continued working on bits and pieces with the truck and I worked on packing the suitcases and catching up on my blog.
Clear sky by lunch time and temp up to 31 degrees. Got to 34 again by 3pm then it cools down again.
Upstairs for drinks and Tipping Point then we had dinner in the camper and back up to watch 1% Club to see how smart we are! Very interesting questions and yes we did get a lot right.
Thurs, 20th
Min of 22 degrees, mostly clear sky and no wind.
Back to the beach with our fishing rods again. The wind has come up from the south but still ok to fish. Unfortunately no one told the fish! Margaret got a herring straight off but it got off just as she got it to shore. I got Meow another little whiting! It is a lovely morning and this time I brought my camera. Not as much weed about now so looks better.
At last I hooked a herring - wiggly thing. Got a better phone when it had calmed down.
Back home for a cuppa. Steve under the truck again tidying things up. Meow spends a lot of time down here under the caravan and came out when he smelt the bait on my hands. Headed up to Margaret to have fish for lunch.
Worked on my blog - caught up at last. Steve finishing off a few more things - so handy having Bob’s workshop.
Cleaned out the fridge. Suitcases done - just need to weigh them now!
Fran sent some photos of Sophia having fun with a friend.
Drinks and Tipping Point again - getting better answering the questions.
Back to the camper for dinner - pizza tonight. While we waited we played a game of Skipbo but changed the rules a bit. Made it more challenging. Still light so we could see the roos next door and two males were practicing their kick boxing. Funny to watch as they had a bout then sat and scratched then got up and had another bout.
No wind and it is cloudy now.
Fri, 21st
20 degree min, cloudy and light breeze. Then a shower of rain came across but Margaret and I still headed down for a fish. Unfortunately the wind was stronger down here from the south-west and has brought in the weed so it wasn’t very good. Gave up after dragging through the weed a few times and headed back home. Nice walk and always good to get some sea air.
Margaret made yummy scones for morning tea.
Sky cleared and I got all our washing done so we will be all clean for when we return. Packed the cotton sheets away and put the flanny ones on as it will be cooler then too. Steve rang the transmission chap and chatted about what he found. His main tech is away this week so they will have a better look at it next week and ring back with their advice.
Fish and Chips for dinner tonight with Bob & Margaret.
