Glad we put our flanny sheets on last night as it was a cool night - had the camper closed up and it got down to 16 degrees this morning. Cloudy and cool wind outside.
Leisurely morning. Cleaned the camper etc.
Finished our packing after lunch then dropped the roof and locked up the camper for our 5 week trip back to Qld.
After lunch Bob & Margaret drove us to the train station in Mandurah and we headed into Perth. Got off at Elizabeth Quay and made our way to the water. Very windy here.
Had a cuppa then wandered to the bridge. The girls look a bit squished in there.
Across the bridge and around to the Bell Tower. I did the tour of the bells previously. Found a spot out of the wind to watch the people wandering about.
Wandered up the road and across to the Perth Underground to catch the train to the airport. Love the old buildings here but not the glass front square things. Past London Court and an old church. a
Lovely mural of birds.
Onto the train to the airport then checked our bag’s weights were within the limits. Found a nice restaurant/bar to spend the afternoon and evening as our flight doesn’t leave till 11pm. Bought a drink and read our books. Very quiet here as there aren’t any flights till the 3 of Jetstar from 11pm.
A few more people arrived when we got something for dinner. Early birds like us.
Got a notification that our flight will be delayed 45min. Glad we have front row seats with extra leg room. At last Jetstar staff opened the bag drop so we headed over but with 3 flights going the same time there were hundreds of people. We found a seat and waited for the line to go down. We eventually got up but still had a wait till we got our bag on.
Through security - which was much easier. Only had to remove our belts - I didn’t have to take off my bangles or pull the lap top out. All good, around to find an icecream but they didn’t have any! The flight to Cairns left then they called us up and we boarded and left at 11.50pm.
Settled into our row 1 seats and put our facemasks on. Nice lady beside us. Now to see if we can get some sleep.
