7am
16.7 degrees with a sunny clear sky. As we started packing up the wind picked
up. Steve drove back to Nathan’s bus to drop off the book. By the time he got
back the wind was bringing another storm towards us so we got moving.
Clouded
over as we head back to Meeka and very chilly.
Decided
to stay in the van park for two nights to give the batteries a good charge and
to get TV reception so we can watch the V8s racing in Perth. The park is beside
the main road so all the trucks are going by – bit noisier than our last spot!!
Jeff
and Lyn were here too but they were just about to leave – heading to where we
were – the chap from the Mining Office is sending everyone there!!
A
scattering of raindrops fell then the sun came out though the wind is quite
cold.
Got
some fresh fruit and vegies and some grog – only one 2L cask of wine per person
per day.
Looked
up the new area on Tengraph and Google Maps so I can put the co-ordinates into
the Hema Navigator. $2 for a load of washing with hot water so I put Steve’s
very dirty detecting clothes through – nearly got the red dirt out!! Will do
the rest tomorrow.
Enjoying
TV reception and hearing the news – how thrilling, a Federal Election in July.
Will have to go online for a postal vote again.
Steve’s
happy – he has Turtleman to watch!! Only getting the hour highlight on TEN for
the V8s but better than nothing.
Still windy and quite cold and all dark by 6pm, 22 degrees in the van.

Rang Mal to see how he went racing at Wakefield – was doing really well but the leader spun and when he tried to avoid him they ended up crashing so he has some major repairs to do but he was very happy with how fast the car was going.
The van all closed up as it is quite cold. Watched the V8s – raining in Perth. Lowndes drove an amazing race to win.
