Mon, 25th Apr, 2016 Lake Douglas Recreation Reserve, near Kalgoorlie, WA

Warm night. 22 degrees this morning. Weather forecast for a top of 31 today.
Anzac Day – Lest we forget.

Got the genie going and the washing underway. I have plenty of water as we will top up tomorrow when we go back into Kalgoorlie. Steve chatted with Jason and Kate then another chap arrived who is called Swampy. He used to work for Minelab so they asked him for some tips. He gave them a spot up north but of course was a bit vague.

Got all the washing done, dried and folded then headed over to join the others for a drink. Another couple arrived from Czech who are travelling the world in their Skoda 2WD car. They have been across Africa and South America and have just come down the Central Highway – everyone thought they were mad. Interesting hearing their stories.

Jason’s friend, Ivy, arrived who does a lot of detecting and she showed me how to use the Tengraph maps (live, pending and mining leases) and how to link to Google Earth from there. Shame we can’t just plug it into the Hema Navigator to figure our whose land we are standing on!! They also use a tracking app on their phones. Will look for a smart phone tomorrow, mainly for Wikicamps but may as well check out the other apps too.

A lot warmer tonight that we left all the windows open to go to bed. Spotted some flashes of lightning in the distance.
