Thurs, 1st October, 2015 Greens Point, Sofala

Warmer night with the overcast sky but it was still only 11.6 degrees at 7am and the sky is clear and brilliant blue again.

After breakfast Steve started on our dining room renovation. Leanne was very happy with her heater.

First he cut off the cushion support timber so the chairs have room to swivel.

Next he did the other side.

Looking a bit bare.

I stained the timber base while Steve made his swivel base outside. All assembled now to get the right spot for the chair.

He drilled the hole in the base for the bolt then secured it with hinges at the front so we can tilt it forward to get into the storage compartment underneath – worked brilliantly. What a smart man he is.

While he worked on the second chair I got out the orange paint we bought to redo out ‘Nova Suns’ on the van. Bit hard to get a smooth look on the vinyl sticker but looks ok from a distance.

Second chair in and it all works wonderfully. We can face the table for dinner etc and then turn it around and recline backwards to watch TV. I had two boxes we use for extra storage in the truck and they are just the right height with a cushion on top to use for footrests – then we can store them beside the seat under the window. Certainly has made it easier getting to my side of the bed with the wall gone.

Having a BBQ tonight to christen Rick’s new fire pit. Folds down flat and works well. There is a plate that goes over the top with the wire rack to put the meat on.

Mummy duck dropped in for a snack – my cracker then a whole slice of bread. She came right up to my chair but wouldn’t take the bread out of my hand.

Rang Kaylene and Rick to see how they are.

Lovely night under the stars by the fire – no satellites tonight but a few planes passed over.

Into the van as the temperature drops to watch another movie from Jon’s collection.
