Clouded
again and still. Was a warm night, 21 degrees at 7.30am.
Packed
up and headed back to Hopetoun. Clouds are clearing as we head west. Went up
the Masons Bay Road this time – so much water still around. Hope they don’t
have a wet winter.
Passed
another desalination plant – obviously it takes a few cleans to get all the
salt out.
As
we turn off to go down to Hopetoun I noticed big black clouds in the west –
looks like more rain to come.
Got
a photo of one of the Farm Art items.
Back
into town to dump the dunny then fill up with water. Nice mural on the
truck/van wash.
The
water point is beside the park where the end of the railway trail is. A replica
railway station built for the town’s centenary in 2001 and also the Centenary
of Federation.
Drove
down to the jetty again for a cuppa though the wind is cold and strong now we
sat inside the van. Walked up to the toilets to check out the murals.
Nice
grassy picnic area if it was a sunny day.
Looking
across the east side.
Back
out to the tea pots farm art and turned down the road to where Kev and Linda
are house-sitting. A bit more farm art along the way.
Backed
in near Kev & Linda’s van then had a cuppa and caught up on all the news.
The
wind got stronger and the clouds got darker then a few spots of rain. Had an
early dinner as Linda and I were going into town for Flickerfest – 26th
International Short Film Festival. It is the first time they have had it in
Hopetoun and we are seeing the best 8 short Australian films out of 1400
entrants. We didn’t know it was BYO so had to watch the others with their wine
and pizzas!! Each of the films were about 10 to 13 minutes long and were fantastic.
Some were so funny others the suspense was amazing. Chatted with a couple of
local ladies who are part of the big art group here.
Back
outside and it has been raining. Home to the boys who were watching Foxtel so
they were happy.
Still
drizzling rain as we head to bed. Just what the town needs – more rain!!
