Overcast
again, 25 degrees. Back into Esperance Esplanade to watch the V8s again.
Great
racing, Shane van Gisbergen got both qualifying and pole positions in the Top
10 both days and then won both races.
Rang
Wendy and had a wonderful chat with her and Sarah. She has a job with the
Catholic Diocese doing media etc so she is very happy.
The
sky has cleared but the breeze has been cool all day so it was very pleasant. Wandered
the other direction today towards the port. Rang Mum and Dad while we walked –
all good there. Becky still waiting to have her second child.
The
clock chimed – I had heard it earlier and thought it was a church one. Not sure
why it is here near the port but it is very ornate. I thought I took a photo of
the plaque but it’s gone. Steve remembers reading it and said the mechanism was
made and the bells were cast in Esperance and was donated by a few families.
Mum
– here are the roses I said smelt so lovely.
Walked
back to the water to Donald’s Park. Nice paved area with a variety of plants in
sections in front of the Tea Rooms.
On
pier posts was information about Don and the tug boat service he ran and the
various jetties and the port.
Other
pier posts were carved.
Walked
out to the point which had a cute lighthouse thing.
View
across to the port and over Taylors Beach.
The
channel. A tug boat is heading out to bring in another big ship.
Back
to the free camp again. Still a few vans here.
