Sun, 12th Mar, 2017 Membinup Beach, 65km east of Esperance, WA

The sky is clear except for some clouds on the horizon so I got a nice sunrise photo at 6am. Only 16 degrees in the van with no wind so far.

The 4WD group headed along the beach following the track up and over the dunes and rocks at the end.

As the sun was shining we got the washing done and Steve gave the truck and van a wash to get the salt spray off though we will give them a good wash when we get back to Esperance.

A local couple had a great time catching little herring off the beach in front of us – little is the word!!

The wind picked up and is quite cold but it is a nice day if you can stand in the sun away from the wind. Greg went for a dive for more abalone but the wind has whipped up the water so he couldn’t see well enough to find any.

Quiet afternoon catching up on blog and Steve pottering around getting us ready to leave tomorrow. Erica rang for a chat after seeing my post about the spikey things she mentioned – apparently it was the hair-bally things she remembered the beach being covered in when they were around Esperance.

The wind got stronger and is whipping up the sand so the van and truck are getting a light sandblast after Steve had cleaned them!!

Full moon tomorrow but it looks beautiful tonight.
