Nice
morning, few clouds coming over. Forecast for high winds from Albany across to
Israelite Bay today – glad we had a nice day yesterday.
Rang
Sandra for her birthday which she is enjoying.
Headed
back to Esperance. Back along the other road this time. Passed Stonehenge – a
full sized replica of the original in the UK – a new tourist attraction but I
think I would rather pay money to see the real one – Jon has.
Passed
through Mullet Lake Nature Reserve – large wetland area.
Too
many vans at the water and dump point. Drove to the Esplanade and stopped for a
cuppa. Chatted with another chap then I wandered around checking out some more
information plaques.
This
area is a memorial to those who have lost their lives off the Esperance coast.
Headed
into town and topped up with fuel and exchanged a gas bottle then around to
Woolies to top up the food. Greg was there and then Sarah and Leigh drove by.
Had
lunch while we packed everything away then drove down to the Esplanade again to
the big bins to toss out all the meat packaging etc after I had rebagged the
meat into our vacuum sealed bags. Passed a chap creating a sand sculpture for
the Festival of the Wind which starts soon. Quite apt as the wind has certainly
picked up.
Back
to the dump and water point – no one there now. Then Greg arrived so hi and bye
to him again. We unhooked the van on the side of the road then Steve washed the
truck thoroughly in the car wash – needed to get all that salt spray off.
Hooked
up again then headed out of town towards Ravensthorpe. Pulled off into a gravel
pit area where we saw lots of overnight campers when we first came through.
Tucked in behind the trees out of the wind. It will do us for the night.
Gave
me the afternoon to catch up on the blog again and Steve got out the polish and
gave the truck a rub over.
Two other vehicles pulled in for the night.
