Sat, 3rd Aug, 2019 Bush camp on 4 Mile Common near Marble Bar, WA

7.30am 16.6 degrees, clear sky and the strong wind is still blowing.

We drove out to our spot from 3 years ago but we didn’t leave much behind – just 3 bits.

We tried another spot where there were a few shafts and dry blowing piles and I got another bit and 5 cents!!

Lots of spinifex to work through and it is fresh so the wax is coming off onto the detector and our boots making them sticky.

The wind is still cool so it was only 27 degrees in the van when we got back there at 2pm. We had a cuppa. Steve went for a detect around camp while I uploaded my blog and did other internet stuff.

He came back late for drinks with a nice grin as he had picked up 5 bits. I said it was because we had our reward ice-cream last night! We are happy to find anything now regarding of the size as there must have been 1000s of people detect on this common.

Played a game of Skipbo while we had our drinks.

The wind has settled and the coolness came in after the sun had set so we closed up the van.

NO PHOTOS TODAY.
