Mon, 29th July, 2019 Bush camp near Mosquito Creek, east of Nullagine, WA

7.30am 17 degrees, sunny with some thin clouds and no wind.

8.30am the wind is back.

Drove down Skull Springs Road to check out the fire as the wind has got it going again. It has continued to east burning a lot of spinifex and trees in the creek gullies. The hawks are flying in circles waiting to pick up their toasted breakfast. Spotted four bustards on a rise also waiting to pick up some yummy dinner.

Went back to our spot from yesterday and continued working the area being rewarded with a few more bits.

No more after lunch so we went back to get some bore water. Stopped for a chat with Steve again. He ended up with 4.8 grams yesterday and so far has another 5 so he is happy with that as he hadn’t found much recently. We told him how someone had used a 7000 there last year but he obviously missed this two lines of little bits.

2pm 30 degrees in the van. The gusty wind is now a nice breeze. Played a game of 3 to Kings while we had a cuppa – I won that. Steve then won two games of Skipbo.

Joined the others for drinks around their little fireplace.

After dinner the wind got stronger from the south-east and is buffeting the van.

Still blowing hard when we went to bed.

NO PHOTOS TODAY.
