Sun, 28th July, 2019 Bush camp near Mosquito Creek, east of Nullagine, WA

7.30am 18 degrees, cloudy sky and no wind.

A new truck and van pulled in further along from us. As we drove up we saw him detecting near his camp with his 2300. We stopped for a chap. He is also Steve, he was from NT but now lives in Kalgoorlie, detecting full time though he has gotten hooked on lawn bowls so goes in a lot of competitions. Steve told him about Alan who had found 14 ounces near here last year. He said he knew Alan but didn’t realise where he had found it. We told him that the area he was detecting someone had done over last year with a 7000 and got half an ounce. He was amazed as he had already found 3 grams worth so goes to show no-one gets it all.

Went back to yesterday’s spot and continued finding little bits. Steve was rewarded with a nice one too so we are definitely having ice-cream for dessert tonight.

Warmer day again but the breeze was nice. After lunch the wind got stronger so the fire took off again as we could see all the smoke spiralling up behind the mountain.

More chatting with the others over drinks then back to the van for dinner.

7pm 28 degrees, no breeze so all the windows are still open.

Still quite warm as we went to bed to so left the door and vents fully open.

NO PHOTOS TODAY.
