Fri, 16th Aug, 2019 Bush camp near Western Shaw Mine, south-west of Marble Bar, WA (5 years on the road)

7.30am 16.5 degrees, clear sky and gusty wind.

Wow it is amazing to think we left home 5 years ago. We have had such a great life travelling it just feel so natural to us now. We love our van and are very comfortable in it.

Drove back to our spot and continued working the gully and slopes. Very happy again with our haul.

We finished up after our afternoon cuppa and followed the track south beside the creek. It just kept winding its way through the spinifex then the hills got closer together and the track went up a very steep hill. Steve decided as there had been any more workings we would turn back – I said that was a good idea as I would have had to get out of the truck if he wanted to drive up that track!! I still haven’t gotten over the scary hill climb at Desert Queen Baths last year.

Past the cattle wandering down to the dam for their drink. We had ours playing Skipbo again – we love this game.

The wind has settled so Steve got the fire going to burn our rubbish. We sat outside and watch the sky change colour and the stars come out. It feels like it is going to be a cooler night so we headed back into the van and closed the windows etc.
