Sun, 18th Jan, 2015 Geeveston RSL Memorial Park

Cold morning – didn’t get up til after 9am, still only 12 degrees then. The rain is coming across in scuds then the sun comes out brightly. Dressed in thick socks, boots, fleecy pants, long sleeve shirt, jumper, zip up cardigan then the Bathurst coat!!!  Got the washing machine out and used the collected rain water and did the washing. The wind is getting very strong. I have the washing on a line from the back of the van to the truck to get it in the sun but have to rush out before the next scud of rain comes over. So it was in to the van line then back out again in the sun. I need the sun as everything feels wet even if it is dry, it feels so cold. Then the wind would blow the jeans off – fun day!!! Warmed up enough to take off the Bathurst coat!! Steve wandered off chatting to others – came back with scales like a pole to weigh the weight on the tow hitch. It was 260kg.

Chatted with Pete and Penny, working out where to camp at Tasman. Drinks with next door, the caretaker and the other couple who were doing some cooking for the RSL. It is 10 degrees already. Steve got the bush cooker going – it was already 7.30 so we didn’t eat tea till 9pm. Rugged up and sitting around the cooker and the other’s had a PIG, so an enjoyable night.

Back to the van for a shower. We only put the hot water on for 20 minutes but the water was so cold by the time I got in the hot water had gone – no shower for me tonight then!!!

Mum and Dad are in Launceston.

NO PHOTOS TODAY.
