Tues, 6th Jan, 2015 Gordon Foreshore Reserve

Lovely morning, breeze still cool. 20 degrees in the van. Quiet morning catching up on my blog. It is lovely sitting here looking at the waves rolling in.

Cut Steve’s hair – got a better comb so I think I did a better job. He isn’t complaining.

Steve had some wire – amazing what he crammed in – and made himself a new antenna in the shape of Australia – even remembered to include Tassie!!

Back to the blog after a cuppa. Steve rotating the tyres on the truck as the back ones are wearing from all the weight!!

I made some pikelets and muffins today. Steve is preparing the cooker for tea tonight.

Lovely sunny day though the breeze is constant and cool when you are in the shade.

Got a bit of interest from other campers about his cooker. One chap wanted to know about my shell chime too. Everyone wanders and chats, it is a very comfortable spot. A lady wandered down to say hello. She is from Whitfield down for a couple of weeks. A chap stopped by the other day and he was from Walkamin. Seen names in visitor books with they homes from Kuranda, Townsville etc. Everyone we talk to knows and most have been to Cairns so no need to explain where we are from.

He collected a few oysters and mussels to cook after dinner to try – hope he doesn’t get a funny tummy!!

Can’t believe someone is out swimming in the Channel!!!

Got the fire going as the wind died down a bit. Steve cooked his mussels & oysters while the fire made some good coals for our tea. He said they were ok but nothing to rave about. I didn’t bother – the smell turned me off to start with, then the look of them – YUK!!

Enjoyed being outside. Rang Mum & Dad to check all is ok for their flight down on Saturday. So looking forward to seeing them both. Mum said it was raining and the temperature was better.

Rang Jon to check on the HWS  - still having cold showers – good weather for it though. Rang Dan and Wendy but didn’t get through to them so will try them again tomorrow.

The clouds have been rolling in from over Bruny Island. They look heavy and are hanging off the top of the hills but I don’t think we will get any rain. Headed into the van at 9pm and got a shot of the sunset coloured clouds behind our van.
