Wed, 9th September, 2015 Mum & Dad’s, Cairns

Another lovely Spring night – will miss these temperatures when we get back to cold Victoria.

Rang Julie Nicholls to get Dave’s number to ask him about the security screen etc at Jon’s. Great chatting with Julie again. Ryan is now living in Perth and Kurt is in Newcastle with their ladies. Rang Dave and he will call in when he gets back from Mission Beach.

Went down to school to see Laura and Aggie as Dot had run to say they might be calling in. Unfortunately they didn’t but I had a cuppa and yummy slice with the girls and Dot in the Tuckshop.

Dropped off some stuff at Jon’s then went around to Pinks for a chat. My phone rang and it was Rebecca saying she had just called an ambulance for Clive. She thought he might have had a stroke or something so I dashed around to their place. I was going to them at midday to have lunch then take them to the airport as they were heading to Brisbane to collect their new motorhome. Rebecca went with Clive in the ambulance so I rang the airline and motorhome company then locked up the house.

Rang Dave back and met him at the house where we decided it was too hard to do the security screen as it was an old style door. I then headed into the hospital to Emergency. Clive was a lot better which was great but they are going to admit him for tests to work out what happened. The ambulance officers said he was very dehydrated so hopefully it won’t be anything too bad. I was supposed to meet Kaylene and Wendy to go to the show tonight but Kaylene wasn’t feeling too well so I rang Wendy and cancelled – might try another night.

They moved Clive into a ward – getting to check out the new buildings of the hospital. Ingrid and Aidan came so I drove Rebecca home for some clothes etc for Clive then we left him rest and headed off for some dinner. Nice pizza on the esplanade then some sorbet for dessert. Clive had had a huge bowl of caesar salad which had made us all hungry.

Dropped off Rebecca then home to fill Mum and Dad in on my day.
