Sat, 18th Mar, 2023 Bob & Margaret’s place, Florida Beach, WA

Early morning temp down to 14.2 degrees but the sun on the camper now so up to 20 degrees at 7am. Clear sky.

Went for a walk along the foreshore walk to The Cut (where they cut a channel in from the sea to the Peel Inlet). We walked down to the park where the ‘locals’ were hanging about. Feels like we are at Woodgate!

Up the path to the road overlooking the sea first and found this lovely python warming itself on the road - hope it doesn’t stay there too long or it won’t be long for this world!

Steve has been a good boy while I was away getting his exercise and had seen some dolphins too. None today unfortunately. Walked around the edge of the house blocks of this small canal area. Access will get blocked off as the houses claim their waterfronts.

On the way back we spotted a rabbit on the Golf Course. Steve has collected a lot of stray balls on his walks too.

Looking over Florida Beach.

The camper stands out, just a bit!

Margaret has a big Rose of Sharon out the front and I spotted a bloom for me - my namesake.

Had a cuppa then into Mandurah with Bob and Margaret to do a few jobs. We saw this sign in the shopping centre. Unfortunately this one was burnt by vandals last year. There is talk they are rebuilding it.

The Mandurah Crab Festival is on so it was very crowded when we went around to the Info Centre to pick up the booklet for the Giants of Mandurah. They have made it like a secret trail so you are supposed to get clues from the giants and then scan a QR code to find another secret one. Margaret had already figured out where they were. The Giants were built by Thomas Dambo (Denmark) and his a world leading recycle artist. He has built his giants in many countries. He wrote poems and made up stories about each of the Giants.

Margaret and Bob had already found one when they were out in their boat the other day. He is on the point overlooking the Peel Inlet. She sent me the pictures she took.

We drove down to the other side of the Cut to look across to him. I only had my phone so couldn’t zoom in well.

Will go and find the rest in a few days.

Back home. Helped Margaret with a few computer jobs.

Drinks with them then back to the camper for our dinner and to watch one of the DVDs we got from the Op Shop at Two Rocks as we can’t get TV reception here.
