Sat, 23rd Aug, 2025 Tom & Sandy’s camp, south of Meekatharra, WA

The pitter patter of rain started in the early hours. 15 degree min with the forecast of only 16 degree max!! Dark and grey outside and the pitter patter continued while we had breakfast. I checked the BOM and overnight we only had 1.2mm of rain in Meekatharra.

We read for the morning then joined Tom & Sandy. It is cold and windy now so we have our big coats on. Steve and Tom sat under the awning chatting while Sandy and I had a game of 3 to Kings inside (Sandy won by a big margin) then a couple games of Triominos (I won those) after lunch.

We didn’t get the heavy rain which was good but it was just a dreary cold day any case. The wind picked up in the late afternoon and blew the clouds about.

Ross & Lara said to join them for fish & chips tonight which was nice so I dug out some bits of salad to take too as there was only the 7 of us this time.

The stars appeared after dinner so hopefully that is all the rain we are getting. Lara said they measured 3mm today. We had a great night chatting again and a lovely dinner and dessert. Other friends rang from Mt Magnet so they should arrive tomorrow. We met them with Tom & Sandy in Perth so it will be good to see them again too.

Cold walk back to the camper then inside to put the heater on and have our showers.
