14.7 degree min, windy and overcast.
We put on the layers and headed out to grid around Steve’s smiley face. Someone else has been around it since we were here and dug a few holes. There are lots of hot rocks here - black rocks that sound off like a gold target. I put on my chain and walked back and forth trying to cover the area. Steve went for a wander. I got a sound in one of the holes that had been dug and got down to the hard base layer and the signal was still there. I left it open to wait for Steve to come back. He did with a little bit of gold. I got him to dig my target out and we were very happy to find a nice nugget.
After a cuppa Steve joined me in gridding.
The wind is getting stronger - getting harder to stay upright!
Inside for lunch. Saw a FB post from Andrea saying her father, Ron, had passed away this morning. Sent her our love at this sad time but it was a blessing for him to now be a peace with his wife.
I stayed in the camper and transferred movies onto the TV hard drive and more TV series to watch. Steve braved the wind and continued gridding.
The forecasted rain of 1-6mm then started with the sky getting dark very quickly and the wind still buffeting the camper.
We played Triominos while we had our drinks and we did the scoring for a change - that worked my brain!
Light showers continued into the night and still windy.
