Thurs, 3rd September, 2015 Mum & Dad’s, Cairns

Cool night 17 degrees – warm compared to Victoria but you don’t wear as many clothes so it feels colder. Certainly warming up in the day though – should be 30 today though we will be in air conditioning most of the day!! (which is set at about 25 degrees)

Met a security screen man at Jon’s to get a quote on a door for his lounge room. I played with Bandit while he did the measuring. Bandit doesn’t bark but he loves to run.

Jon rang about getting the fan for the other bedroom as the other couple should be moving in over the weekend.

I picked up some ink for Dad’s printer then headed back home to pick up Mum then Val for a day at Cazaly’s playing the pokies and having lunch.

Saw all the line dancing ‘girls’ at Cazalys. Will catch up with a few of them for lunch tomorrow.

No big wins but we had a nice day together.

Another walk along the Esplanade but I don’t think I have lost any weight!!! Took the camera for shots of what is happening for the Festival Cairns celebrations. There are pianos scattered around for people to tinkle on – some dreadlocked hair chap was belting out a great tune as we passed one near the Lagoon.

The now famous fish at the Lagoon.

We stopped to check out this building. It is for Jason Coleman’s Spiegelicious – a dance, cabaret and circus show. The building is a 96 year old Spiegel Zelt from Germany. We might check it out next week.

At the other end of the Lagoon, Zumba was on and everyone was getting into the swing.

Looking back towards the Fish.

The trees are filled with hanging lanterns etc.

Everyone is out enjoying the Esplanade.

There are movies on tonight under the stars too.

Home for yummy Payella. Steve rang, all well, no gold yesterday but he found 10 pieces today though they only add up to a total of 0.8 grams. He is surviving the heat.
