First
day of Spring – so glad we are home to feel the warmth of it though hopefully
Victoria is starting to warm up too!!
Mum
and I went shopping for mattresses as the old ones we are sleeping on have had
it. Checked out some at Amart then went around to Forty Winks. Heather, who
years ago lived behind Mum & Dad is still working there so we had a great
catchup chat with her and she gave Mum a good price on two new mattresses. I
texted Dan to see what time he finished work so he could pick up the mattresses
with me using Brian’s ute.
Dropped
Mum home then I met Yanneke at the café at Earlville. Had a great time catching
up on her news as she became a grandmother 20 days ago when her eldest Michelle
had a little girl, Amelia. Just love that name. Her other daughter, Jacquelin
is getting married next year. Business is booming for her and Terry which is
good too.
Popped
into Suncorp and Commonwealth Banks to check on finances etc. Saw Lisa, my line
dancing teacher too which was nice to catch up with her.
Met
Dan and we ordered another board for the bed base then went around to pick up
the mattresses. Good timing as Mum was there paying for them. Dan will pick up
the board tomorrow then take the old mattresses to the dump.
Met
Kaylene for a walk along the Esplanade then back home for dinner.
Rang
Steve and he is having fun though he is noticing the heat. It is cool overnight
18 degrees in the shed but it gets up to 34 in the shed during the day. They
tend to detect till lunch then wait till 4ish to go out again. Not complaining
about the heat though as we whinged for so long about the cold!! Charles is
with him. He has 4 grams so far which is all he had found in Victoria.
Valerie
arrived in her new Alfa Romeo to pick me up. Met up with Susan and Christine
then at Cazalys for coffee and chat. Wonderful to hear of their news too with
more grandchildren arriving etc. Put a few dollars in the pokies but didn’t
have any big wins.
Off
to sleep on my new mattress.
