Nice
morning but it warmed up quickly as the sun came over the hill. Onto the bus
again into the track.
Went
around to the main entrance.
The
Roulettes did their display overhead. Only got one in the photo though.
Tried
to get into the Gold area but no go today. Walked around the track the opposite
way to yesterday. The GT Series cars were lining up to go on the track.
Spotted
Steven Richards and had a chat.
Dean
Canto and Grant Denyer are co-drivers. Called out to Grant Denyer to get a
photo for Leanne as she thinks he is cute.
Zoomed
in on Jonathon Webb at the wheel of his McLaren.
He
and Dean Canto were having a laugh about their heights.
John
Magro in 49 is from the Tablelands so we had someone to watch.
The
F-18 zoomed overhead.
Found
a Drift Car for Dan.
Wandered
through the Dunlop Series pits.
One
car didn’t do too well.
The
main road going by.
Up
into the grandstand for lunch and watch the Enduro-X races again.
These
guys are amazing.
Heard
some loud music and noticed a fashion parade further other – zoomed in.
It
was still going as we headed over. Some nice bodies for the ladies to enjoy
too.
Would
be so hot in the Zorb Balls today.
Got
up to the fence to watch the Stadium Trucks jump over the ramps. Great to watch.
Half
of them are from America – No. 1 is an 18 year old, Sheldon Creed.
One
of the Aussies is ex V8 driver Paul Morris.
Toby
Price (Dakar winner) also drives one but isn’t having a good day.
Another
driver is the grandson of Jack Brabham.
Loved
this guy’s t-shirt.
Went
into the Nissan area and we could go up onto their platform if we showed proof
we had a Nissan – luckily I had brought the car key and Steve showed them our
card with the photo of the truck on it. No TV screen but a great view down to
Turn 9 and around Turn 10 and over the merchandise area.
Watched
the Carrera Porsches whiz by.
Back
to our chairs under the trees in the Oasis to watch the V8s qualify for the two
races tomorrow. Race 1 has Scott Pye in a Ford on pole and Chaz Mostert on pole
for Race 2 which was fantastic after his long recovery from the horrific crash
at Bathurst last October.
Steve
trying to pick up the radio broadcast.
Rick
relaxing behind his sunglasses!!
Dropped
the chairs at Paul’s van and headed out to catch the bus home. Having an early
night as we are going to be up early tomorrow. Paul & Les are picking us up
in the Galaxie instead of catching the bus.
Nice
to get back and relax as we are walking a few miles around the track.
A
family pulled in beside us with a camper trailer which they had just bought and
were having a few issues setting it up. The boys went over to help. We sat outside and watched the recorded TV broadcast that I taped today as the neighbours kids played cricket in the dark.
