Mon, 2nd Oct, 2017 Webb’s Patch Mine, 30km east of Cue, WA

7.30am 20.3 degrees – lovely, clear sky and no wind.

Keeping our teabags to dry out then put in kero to use as firestarters – a handy tip from Claude and Trish.

Good phone reception so checked Facebook and it seems everyone went to see Elton John.
Sent Kayleigh a happy birthday message for today.

Off detecting though I am only finding hot rocks.

Back for lunch and Leanne had rung. They are at Bathurst volunteering again with some friends. They got nice jackets this year and a thermos that matches the backpack they got last year. She had posted a memory of us and them at Sofala when Steve put in their heater – they think of him fondly every time they turn it on which was the other morning when it was only 1 degree!! Today she has the aircon on as it is hot in Bathurst. They have their spare tickets again so I suggested I ring Fred and Dianne whom they met when we were there to see if they would like them. Fred thought that was great.

More detecting – still no joy. 31 degrees with a nice breeze.

Sat in the shade chatting for drinks until the sunset and then we cooked roast chicken and vegies for dinner in the camp oven. Great life.

NO PHOTOS TODAY.
