Fri, 6th Oct, 2017 The Granites, near Mt Magnet, WA (Greg’s birthday)

7am 14.6 degrees, clear sky, breezy. Sent Greg a text for his birthday and said I will ring him after work today.

Kerry and Brian texted with great news – they have sold their house so they are one step closer to getting on the road.

Into Mt Magnet – parked in the ‘caravan parking’ spot and settled in to watch the V8 broadcast. I texted Leanne to see how the main gate scanning went – she rang back. It was good – she was on the out gate and as it had turned cold she was kept busy with everyone going out again to get jumpers etc.

Scott McLaughlin posted the fastest time of all time in Practice 5 with a 2 min 04.1470 sec.

Then he ended up the fastest in qualifying with a 2.04.2254 – the sun had come out and it was a lot hotter then which changes how the cars go.

Walked down to the IGA for some meat and vegies then drove to the actual ‘park’ for a cuppa. Rang Greg for his birthday and had a nice chat. He said our cousin Pete had rung and his daughter Erin had had a baby – he thinks it was a girl. Will have to get the info so I can add her to the family tree.

As we headed off to ‘our campspot’ again two big dump trucks without their tippers came into town. They were 8 metres wide hence we had to get well off the road.

Parked up again. A lot warmer today – got all the windows open. I caught up on my blog then we played some games as we had our drinks.
