Sun, 1st Oct, 2017 Friar’s Mine, 30km east of Cue to Webb’s Patch Mine, 30km east of Cue, WA

7.30am 17.8 degrees, clear sky and windy again.

Went for a detect around camp but I only got 3 bits of steel and my arms are saying they have had enough detecting – unless I am on a good gold area of course. I rang Andrea – she has had a dreadful turn of luck lately with car accidents, kitchen flooding then they were robbed but otherwise all is good.

Steve came back with a nice little nugget.

Headed 7km down the track to nearer the Webb’s Patch Mine area and found a spot to camp near some diggings and pushings. Set up camp.

Went for a wander with our detectors – lots of good signals from the ironstone rocks but no gold for me.

None for Steve at smoko time but he did see and emu. I decided to work on my blog. A lot warmer today – well 29 degrees in the van!! The wind has settled is just comes in gusts now and then. Claude and Trish both scored which is good.

Lovely temperature – down to shorts and t-shirt. Got the fire going for dinner so chatted around the fire over drinks while it cooked.

The donkeys are wandering around as we can hear them eeyoring. Sandy rang for a chat. Missing us as they were all alone last night and no one to play games with.

Left windows and door open but still needed a light blanket when we went to bed.
