Sat, 21st Oct, 2017 Golf Club 24hr RV Stop, Northampton to Fig Tree Crossing Campground, Chapman Valley, WA

7am 27 degrees with all the windows and vents open. Windy through the night. A few heavy drops of rain at 4am so I had to get up and close the roof vents. Then a rumble of thunder at 6am and a few more drops of rain but that was it.

The sun is peeking out through dark clouds as we headed into a park in town to watch the V8s race at the Gold Coast. Parked under a tree as it is certainly a lovely warm day today even with the cloud cover.

Settled in for an exciting day of racing as it was pouring with rain on the Gold Coast. Brian, Ian and Fozzie are there. I texted hoping they had dry seats. Reply back – dry grandstand seats right on the start line with lots to drink!!

While we were watching the commentator wander around the pits we spotted Lindsay in the background. How about that – of all the thousands that are there.

It was a great race with Ford winning.

Headed south to Geraldton then east to Fig Tree Crossing Campground again. As we passed Coronation Beach a funny low cloud was rolling in from the sea – nearly like a fog. Didn’t come out well in the photo.

Looks nice over the Chapman Valley as we head to the campground.

Back to our spot along the fence-line. The dark cloud is coming towards us from the west.

Good phone, internet and TV reception here so I uploaded some more of my blog and checked Facebook. Andrea posted that Prince Leonard had lost his case against the Government over the GST so he will have a big tax bill to pay now.

The dark clouds got to us bringing a shower of rain though that didn’t cool things down too much.
